THE CHURCH
New Song Covenant Church seeks to form and nurture our community to be deeply committed to Jesus Christ and passionately engaged in Christ’s mission in our community and world.
Since the founding of the Covenant Church in 1885, our essential beliefs are summed up in what we call Covenant Affirmations:
THE NAME
New Song takes its name from Psalm 40:1-3 a psalm of David.
I waited patiently for The Lord:
he turned to me and herd my cry
He lifted me out of The slimy pit,
out of The mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the Lord
The words "New Song" are also located in Psalms 33:3, 98:1 and 149:1.
